Now that FileMaker is releasing new versions every 12 months it has become a bit of a chore in Windows having to manually copy over the list of hosts from one version to another.
Below is a tool we created to make this task a bit easier and faster.
You essentially choose the source version and the destination version and hit transfer.
The tool exports the relevant registry source key, modifi威而鋼
es it and writes it back to the registry.
You could also use it to update multiple machines using software deployment tools on a network (say you had to update 50 clients).
My guess is that it would be mostly useful for developers like us that have multiple hosts and have to keep copying them from version to version.
* It is recommended you back up your registry first but it in reality the worst that could probably happen is that you wipe out the list of your hosts by reversing the source and destination.
Note: please run the tool on your SOURCE version (so if copying from FM15 to FM16 run it on FM15).

We hope you find it useful…
This is version 1.0, please let us know of any issues you encounter.
Update: the file has been updated and tested with FileMaker 17
